With cultural roots in Chile, Claudio Cesar Ricci grew up in a strong musical environment. His father, a singer in a South-American folklore band, had a revolutionary background. Due to the country’s dictatorship, his parents were forced to emigrate to Austria and, subsequently, these political and musical influences have played a major role in Claudio’s life.
In 2002 he founded the event platform MoviMiento, together with his friend and colleague Richard Rohr, aka Dj Saliva. The continued success of these events lead to further gigs in some of Vienna’s and Europe’s best-known clubs and festivals, such as Space, Privilege, The Zoo Project in Ibiza, Monza in Frankfurt, Creamfields Festival Central, and Urban Art Forms Festival.
THE NEXT STEP
In 2007 Claudio joined Vienna’s most famous house club, Volksgarten, as Music and Event Manager. He was in sole charge of booking the acts and organising the entire program, which connected him with some of the best-known artists and their management teams. Thanks to these experiences he could begin a new chapter in his career – as Event Manager and Electronic Music Consultant (Red Bull Dj Network) for Red Bull Austria in 2011.
Working for a world-renowned company like Red Bull was a lot of pressure and responsibility. Claudio’s management skills definitely grew in leaps and bounds during this time. But it also made him realise that he had to make a decision. Should he focus on his passions as a DJ and music producer, or continue with his management career? He took the decision to quit and focus 100% on what he loved most: Creating music and making people dance!
LIVING THE DREAM
It proved to be the right decision. In 2013 he finally began to realise his dream and moved to Ibiza. Re-inspired and fully motivated, he launched a weekly radio show on Ibiza Global Radio, together with his close friends Megablast and Andreas Weisz. He also released a track on one of Germany’s cult labels, Compost Recordings, in cooperation with Megablast and the unique voice of OG Spiritual Goddess (listen to it here)
Since then, Claudio has been completely focused on his work in the studio, and in 2016 he joined STRIZZI RECORDS. He is running the Ibiza based label with Tom Pool & Chris Kristallski. They began to produce together and have many tracks waiting to be released in 2016 on STRIZZI, as well as other labels.
Claudio’s broad influences are comprised of every subgenre of house music. His sets are dynamic and diverse, spanning the whole genre. Because of this flexibility in style he plays deep to tech house, sharing the DJ-booth with acts like The Chemical Brothers, John Digweed, Henrik Schwarz, Kenny Dope, Nick Curly, Groove Armada, Steve Lawler, Trentemoeller, Booka Shade and more.
Claudio Ricci’s sound conveys an absolutely positive attitude to life without any musical compromises and guarantees a successful club night.
“I’m inspired by the mixture of groovy beats, organic sounds and melodies. When everyone is dancing, the party is just perfect”, says Claudio
